Genre of Music by Composers in Different Eras

Music has all kind of genre. Different eras has different genre, even through it has different genre in contemporaneity. For example, modern composers usually compose pop music, jazz, rock and roll because these genre are very popular by young people. Pop music is simple melody, it doesn't have complex chord and its lyrics is easy to understand so most people can sing pop music. Rock and roll is also representative of modern music. There are many famous rock band in the world of today, especially in Europe and America. Rock music uses percussion mainly so it has super strong beat, at the same time, it also uses electric guitar and keyboard so that its sound is very loud. When you listen the rock music, you will get excited even through crazy.
But most middle age people and old people don't like pop music and rock music. They are fans of western classical music or national traditional music. Western classical music includes baroque music, classical music, romantic music etc. Its genre is more rich such as chorus, solo, opera. Composition genre has sonata, concerto, dance suite and some short piece. Orchestration has chamber music, orchestra, string quartet, woodwind/brass ensemble etc. These music make you relax and enjoy when you listen them that is good for your brain and health. Until now, these genre is used by composers but composers add new material in style.
If you are interested in music, I suggest you listen all kind of the music genre, don't limit in one period music or one genre music.

  1. A good effort, Zhong Qian, to briefly explain your view of some of the major genres of music. However, I think that it's possible for old people to like both pop music and traditional music, except that perhaps the pop music they like is the pop music of their generation. Through my parents, I was exposed to the songs popular in their younger days, some of which came from well-liked movies.
