My name is Zhong qian. I'm 19 years old and from China. My major is violin. I have many hobby in childhood. I learned dance and handwriting before studying the violin. When I was 8 years old , my father chosen violin for me.This is a interesting story.
Once International Children's Day, my parents went to watch a program with me in my primary school. Most of people watched dance and sing , including my mother and me. But my father was interested in children who were playing the Erhu that is one of the traditional instrument in China. After we went back home, father was excited to talk about erhu performance. He thought I should learn music. He don't like erhu's sound because the sound listen too sad. He also don't like piano because piano is too heavy to convenient. So he decided I learn the violin.
The next day, he visited a violin teacher for me and always accompanied me to class. My parents are serious for my study but they never press me to do anything. So I also like violin.
After a few years, I enter Wuhan conservatory of music to study violin. This is new stage, violin became my major not only hobby. I start felt pressure in school.I think this is also a reason to make me get progress ceaselessly.
Now, I'm a student of YST conservatory of music. I have a excellent major teacher and learning conditions. I think I like violin more much than before.

  2. Yes, as Peiling pointed out, many of you started learning an instrument through the influence of your parents. That is very natural, of course. Many composers started learning music because of their families too. It just shows us how important the family is to a child. It's good that you enjoy what you are doing because then it is much easier to work hard. I hope you will enjoy your time at YSTCM!
